The top spots in the 2016 season's initial Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings feature a trio of U.S.-trained horses, headed by 2014 Horse of the Year California Chrome .
Off season-opening victories in the San Pasqual Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita Park and a handicap at Meydan, where he spotted his rivals 15 pounds, California Chrome is tied for first in the rankings that consider races from Jan. 1-March 6.
